DISCOVER morgan ranch nature park

Morgan Ranch Nature Park is unlike most public parks in Yavapai County, Arizona. You won't find playgrounds, barbecue grills, or sports fields here. Instead, the 16-acre park offers a quiet, natural landscape - an inviting place to enjoy a picnic, walk the trail, take in wide-open panoramic views, or simply sit on a bench beneath a tree and enjoy the peace and beauty of the surroundings.

Morgan Ranch Nature Park is located at the northeast corner of Williamson Valley Road and Nancy Drive. The 16-acre property was given to Yavapai County by Talking Rock Ranch/Inscription Canyon Ranch for use as a public facilities site. Working with the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors, the Morgan Ranch Park Association (MRPA) officially established the park on April 3, 2006.

The park preserves a portion of the historic Cooper-Morgan Ranch and provides a place to enjoy the area's natural beauty. The one-mile Cooper Loop Trail winds across granite boulders and through stands of oak, manzanita, and juniper. Birdhouses encourage nesting by native species, while a picnic table, benches, and a "little library" with a book bench invite visitors to relax, read, and share books. The easy, non-motorized trail is ideal for hiking, biking, and dog walking. It also connects the Yavapai Trail System from Inscription Canyon to trails east of Talking Rock Ranch.
